Three solos featured on our recent recording release The Golden Age of the 19th Century Brass Virtuoso have just been published by The Music Company (UK) Ltd and we are delighted to to pre-release these to you today. Currently available in print format, including solo part and piano accompaniment, the trio of titles includes:
- Goodbye, Sweetheart, Goodbye – air with variations solo composed by Alexander Owen and arranged by John Wallace for cornet/trumpet/euphonium/baritone with piano accompaniment
- The Watch on the Rhine – air with variations solo composed by John Hartmann and arranged by John Wallace for cornet/trumpet/euphonium/baritone with piano accompaniment
- O Ruddier Than The Cherry – solo originally written for ophicleide, and now rescored by Anthony George to include additional part for euphonium/baritone players.
All three pieces were recorded on our recent album release which featured John Wallace playing an 1862 Bayley Acoustic Cornet, and Anthony George playing a c.1846 Gautrot 10-key ophicleide, accompanied by Simon Wright and Aaron Shorr playing an 1844 London Broadwood piano.
